The People Behind the Club
Every rugby club depends on the people who keep it moving: the volunteers, organisers and leaders who make sure matchdays happen, players are supported, and the culture of the club stays strong.
Old Georgians RFC is no different. The club is run by a dedicated committee who guide its direction, manage the practicalities of the season, and help ensure OGs remains organised, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Many of those involved have been part of the club for years. Their experience, commitment and care for the club are a big part of what keeps OGs thriving.
Club Committee
The club committee is responsible for the organisation and direction of Old Georgians RFC. From overseeing matchday operations to maintaining the club’s long-term stability, they help ensure OGs remains a well-run and welcoming rugby club in Surrey.

CLUB CAPTAIN & 1st XV CAPTAIN
A leader on and off the pitch, Matt is responsible for driving standards within the playing group. Alongside leading the team on matchdays, he oversees selection and helps welcome and integrate new players into the squad. -

As the club’s most capped player, Francesco has contributed enormously to OGs over the years. Today he brings his professional expertise to the role of Treasurer, helping maintain the club’s strong financial footing.

A former Saracens and England player, Ben brings elite experience and insight to the club. As 1st XV coach he helps guide the team’s style of play, encouraging the energetic, heads-up rugby that has become a hallmark of OGs.

Rugby at Old Georgians has always been about more than just the match itself. The social committee helps ensure the club’s off-field culture remains just as strong as its on-field performance.

Like most amateur rugby clubs, Old Georgians is sustained by the time, energy and commitment of the people involved in it.
The committee, volunteers and contributors behind the scenes help ensure the club remains organised, welcoming and true to its values. Their work allows players to focus on the rugby, while the wider community continues to grow around it.
It’s one of the reasons OGs has become a rugby club in Surrey that people enjoy being part of – not just for a season, but for many years.
