Old Georgians signed off 2025 with a high-scoring bonus-point win at St George’s College, beating Old Johnians 61–33 in an entertaining, open contest.

OGs made the perfect start, with Joe Crawforth crossing early to put the home side 5–0 up. Ollie Feast added the conversion, and soon after scored himself before converting again to give OGs a 14–0 lead.

Old Johnians responded well, cutting the gap with a try before levelling the match at 14–14. The visitors then found another score to move ahead 19–14, with OGs briefly struggling to hold onto the ball and allowing Old Johnians to build momentum.

But OGs did not panic. Tom Ellis crossed to bring the home side back into it, and Feast converted to restore the lead at 21–19. Crawforth then added his second try of the afternoon, with Feast again on target from the tee to give OGs a 28–19 advantage at half-time.

Old Johnians started the second half with plenty of pressure and were rewarded with a converted try, narrowing the score to 28–26. The game was still very much alive, but OGs found another gear when it mattered.

Lyle Reynolds crossed to stretch the lead to 33–26, before Feast added another try and conversion to make it 40–26. From there, OGs began to take control of the scoreboard.

Impact player Wyatt Dixon made his mark quickly after coming on, scoring a try that Feast converted to push the lead out to 47–26. Feast then completed his hat-trick and converted again, taking the score to 54–26.

Old Johnians, despite being hit by injuries and reduced in numbers, kept playing and managed a late try to make it 54–33. But OGs had the final word, with Reynolds crossing for his second of the day and Feast adding the final conversion to seal a 61–33 win.

It was not perfect, and there were moments where Old Johnians caused real problems, but OGs had too much attacking quality across the pitch. Nine tries, a bonus point, and a strong finish to the calendar year.

The Bigger Picture

This was exactly the sort of result OGs wanted before the Christmas break: five points, plenty of tries, and a confident finish to the first half of the season.

At the halfway point of the Counties 3 Surrey campaign, Old Georgians sit third in the table, well placed for the second half of the season.

There was also a standout individual performance from Ollie Feast, who finished with three tries and eight conversions for a superb 31-point haul. With strong contributions across the side and Ben Watts named Man of the Match, it was a proper squad performance to end 2025.

OGs return to action on Saturday 10th January away against Law Society RFC.
